According to several studies 90% of all startups fail (read more @theguardian). It may be assumed that quite some potential is lost in those 90%. But are really 40% just failing (Forbes, 2014) because there is no market interest? It is hard to know for sure, because the disinterest in the product might be confounded by the disbelief in the person delivering the pitch!
Investing in innovation is risky business! It’s trust in people to achieve something new – not just belief in new ideas. Therefore, social skills and insights in human decision making are pivotal. On investment, as well as innovators side, understanding the human factor is key to success.
